New (Smaller) Screens

This past spring was our first season of selling and delivering compost. In preparation for selling compost we have been experimenting with all of the composting variables: recipes, moisture levels, curing times, and screens. In addition to some positive comments, the main constructive feedback from home gardeners was that the compost particle size was a little large for their preference. During the spring/summer selling season we were using a 1/2 inch screen for the final product. In response to feedback, we have just bought and installed a 3/8 inch screen for finished compost. The particle size is definitely smaller now and has a more pleasing aesthetic.

Thanks to everyone who has given feedback (both positive and negative). Please keep it coming, because we are listening and constantly trying to improve. Also, big thanks to Tom Walters from Pacific Rock & Recycle for helping us get the screens installed!
