Feedstock Diversity: Photo Essay

Like any ecosystem a diverse population can create a more robust community. The same is true for the microbes devouring carbon in our compost piles. If we create a windrow recipe built on diverse feedstocks the resulting compost is more rich, compelling, and nutrient filled. Within means, we strive to incorporate diverse feedstocks for each batch of our compost. Below is a photo essay of some of the materials going into Dirt Hugger windrows. Enjoy.
